Praising children is good but it also makes them aware that they don't need to work that hard.  Something like praising them often makes them lose by qutting there work and they won't do as good as they did before.  As we know that praising is good but that also make them lose control over there work and everything else.  We need to let them know that they are not doing good job even if they did and that will make them do better from next time.  Parents also do something like that to make themseleves look better in front of other by saying that my kid follows everythings we say and he really do good job.  You should only praise your child if they did really hard work.

Feedback shouldn't be like going from B to A but it should be on how you can improve you skills in that specific area.  Many people says good job on many things you do but it is not on specific subject or it does not say which area you did good.  Feedback is what make the students improve their skills in that specific area through the practice and feedback process.  Feedback should not be confusing, it should be straight forward where student understant what he/she needs to do.

Topic Research: Krishna Stories

Krishna

Krishna is the seventh son of Vasudeva and Devaki's son who was born to many good things while he is on earth.  Many demons was sent to kill him but he survive all the attacks and killed the demons even though he was only baby.  It was as if Vishnu he himself came down on earth to vanquish demons by himself and took the form of Human.  This avatar of Krishna was the most powerful avatar he took and the rest of his previous avatar was not that powerful.

Kamsa

Kamsa is the brother of Devaki and he was the son of Drumila and Padmavati.  Drumila took the form of Ugrasena is the husband of Padmavati, while he was away on battlefield Padmavati had intimate relationship with Drumila and got pregnant with his child.  Ugrasena still accept her and adopt the son that they named Kamsa.  It was said that through prophecy Devaki's seventh son will kill you and Narayana came to make that prophecy true.  Narayana said that from eight son's of Devaki one of them will kill you and that way he won't know which one is going to kill him.

Putana

Putana was a demon who breast feed Krishna so she can kill him but she didn't know that the infant was the avatar of Vishnu.  Putana was sent by Kamsa, she will breast feed him so he will die by the poison milk that he drink.  She was breast feeding Krishna, she became foster mother but it was not for good reason but wrong reason.

Week 3 Story Mixed of Two Stories

This week I did my reading and character on Parashurama and Jatayu the mighty bird.  I will have both of these character in my story but with different name.

Once upon a time there was a boy, his name Shrirama who really like to play with birds and his dad got him a bird.  Shrirama didn't understand what bird was saying but bird knew what Shrirama wants, and he was playing with Shrirama.  The bird was happy that he got the owner who is happy to take care of him and never get angry at him.  Shrirama was thinking of the name for the bird so he can call him with that name and he thought that bird will like it so he name the bird Jatayu.  Nobody in his village had the bird as a pet and he took it outside to show everyone that he has the bird as a pet that no one in the village does.  

Not everyone in the village is good or bad but there are some or few people who cannot tolerate the happiness of other or something good happening to other.  People with the most money tend to be arrogant people and they will do anything in their power to make that person feel helpless.  They act just like rakshasa who want the destruction of others or make them feel helpless because nobody can stand up to them.  One of Shrirama's friend whose name is Ravana who was rich and he saw him with the bird and he went to told his dad he wants bird too like Shrirama.  Ravana's dad told him that he already has a dog as a pet and you don't take care of the dog so we are not getting another pet for you.

Ravana got mad and went outside, to help him calm down his friend took him to play.  Where he saw Shrirama with his pet Jatayu and he got jealous which made him think that he is going to took that bird away from Shrirama.  One day when Shrirama was not at home, Ravana took his bird Jatayu since he was in his cage he couldn't fly away.  When Shrirama came home he saw that someone took his Jatayu and he was crying at the same time he was really angry.  He went to everyone's house and ask everyone that if they have seen his bird Jatayu.  Everyone said "We didn't saw" and one of Shrirama's friend said "Ravana really wanted a bird after looking at your bird maybe he took it."  

Shrirama went to Ravana house and said "Ravana come out you took my Jatayu" after hearing that Ravana came out as well as his father and mother.  They ask Shrirama what happen why are shouting outside my house and Shrirama said "Ravana took my Jatayu" they didn't believe it because Ravana was saying he didn't took it.  Shrirama said "Your son became arrogant when he got dog as pet and he got jealous when I got my Jatayu." The argument went for long time and Ravana's mother remember him going in the garage behind the house and told his father.  After that they went to check in the garage and they found out that Ravana did took Jatayu from Shrirama's house.  His dad got really angry at him and sold his dog, which was his punishment for taking something that does not belong to him.  Everything went on happily after that.

I do not like the story where someone dies so in this story nothing like that happen.

Reading Notes: Ramayana Part B

Jatayu is a bird who watches over the exiles in the forest and he fight Ravana who is taking Sita the wife of Rama.  I like his character, he will come to save anyone who needs help and would not hesitate to fight them.

After Rama got married and came home, his father Dasharatha exile him for twenty years and he left without hesitation.  Rama and Sita was going and Lakshmana also said he is going to go and the three of them went to forest for twenty years.  When staying in the forest Ravana comes and sent one his man to take form of Deer and Sita saw that deer and said to Rama "I want that deer" and Rama goes to catch him and Sita got worried and told Lakshmana to go behind him.  Lakshmana puts a barrier where Sita cannot go outside until one of them is back and nobody can come inside the barrier.  Ravana takes form of a Sage and try to get food from Sita and Sage said "would please give to me I cannot come inside this line."  Sita came outside and Ravana transform back to his orginal form and picks her up and take away.  While they were going in the car of Ravana, Sita was asking for help and Jatayu the might bird saw that and came to help.

Jatayu was a brave and he said "as long as I am alive, you cannot take Sita away."  They both started fighting and unfortunately Jatayu was not strong as Ravana and he was defeated.  The character of the Jatayu was side role but the purpose of his character to fight for justice and help the people.  It was also considering as a side character who was there to fight Ravana and die after that fight.  He should also stay alive until Rama comes and let him know who took his wife Sita away from him.  If he didn't die and was just injured, he could have help Rama to get Sita much faster because Jatayu was a bird he can fly.  It took some time for Rama to meet with Hanuman who can also fly because he is son of wind god name Pavan.

The story starts with the introducing how mighty bird Jatayu is able to fight with mighty rakshasa Ravana.  He was putting his all energy to fight the Ravana and it was nice to know that there are warriors who can fight Ravana and not sacred of him.  Whereas at the ending of story Jatayu died as mighty warrior who didn't back down even he had to fight Ravana and stayed alive until Rama came there ask him what happen.  I never like the story with the ending of someone who dies, and he also help people and evil person is powerful enough to kill the good person.  I like it when the evil person dies at the end of the story.

Reading Notes: Ramayana Part A

I really love Ramayana and I have watched it so many times.  Sometime people in India make Ramayana movie as a cartoon so kids will watch and learn about it.  As a kid it was fun to watch Ramayana and I really like it.  They also made the show based on Ramayana and it was on Indian TV channel named StarPlus, which my dad bought so he can watch all of the TV channels from India.  I watched the whole Ramayana and it came five days a week for twenty minutes a day.

Rama is the main character who learn everything and he was respectful towards his people and other people as well.  He will help anyone that needed help and wouldn't hesitate to help, but the character that interest me most was Parashurama who is a son of sage and his parents were killed by arrogant King.  He said that he won't rest until he killed that King who killed his parents for not giving the cow.  Parashurama was God Vishnu's avatar so he was born to kill the Kings who were arrogant and did not help his people.

This was the reason I like his character most, who will kill anyone if they were doing the wrong thing.  In Ramayana, King Janaka announce the marriage for his gorgeous daughter Sita and said that anyone who can put the string on the bow of God Shiva will be the husband of Sita.  Many Kings came to pick the bow up but nobody could lift it, even Ravana came he was able to lift little bit and cannot hold for long time.  King Janaka has thought that there is there no one who can pick this bow and marry my daughter Sita.  Rama came at the end and with request from his teacher he pick the bow up and break it from the middle and everyone was surprised.

Parashurama come and said "who was arrogant enough and dare to break the bow of God Shiva".  He hated the arrogant people and Lakshmana brother of Rama said "It was old bow that my brother snapped in half and why are you angry." Parashurama got angry at Lakshmana for being disrespectful and almost hit him with his axe but Rama came in between and join his hand for respect.  And after that the sage Parashurama calm down and handed God Vishnu's bow to Rama and told him to shoot. Rama did and Parashurama got to know that his is the avatar of God Vishnu.

I really like how he makes his entry and everyone became scared of his presence.  He is the type of person who will not tolerate the injustice toward other people or being too much arrogant.
