Reading Week 13: The Young Parrot

There are humans who are nice to animal and even after capturing them they let them go.  Just like that this story is about a parrot and field owner who grows rice on his field.

The king and queen who lived in the wood of silk cotton tree.  They had a son and he was the most beautiful parrot of all of them.  As king and queen they would not let their son do any work or not even let him go outside the forest.  Without any experience he would not know how this world works and what does humans do to capture them.  The time passes and the child parrot grew up to be the bigger and more beautiful than any parrot.  The king and queen grew old so it was their son responsibility to take care of his parents.  This was the same with human like the child will grew up and help his old parents when they are not able to work and they can only stay in the home.  I really like that he uses some of the human characteristic for parrots.

The child parrots now has the responsibility to take care of his parents so in order to feed them he goes outside the forest in the fields to get the rice.  Every time when he goes to get food he will eat as much as he can and then take the rest of the food with him to feed them.  One day going back to his home the parrot sees the nice fertile field and thinks that from tomorrow he will get the rice from that field.  The farmer's men saw that parrot are comes everyday to eat rice in their field.  He inform the owner and the owner decide to capture the parrot.  The farmer's men set up a trap and capture the beautiful and big parrot but all of his friends leaves him behind because they all got scared.  The owner ask him "why beautiful parrot that you come to my field to get rice?"  The beautiful parrot said, "My parents are old and not able to fly so it is my duty to feed them and your field are more beautiful and fertile." After hearing that the owner let him go.  The owner was really a nice person that he let go the parrot so he can fulfill his duty.  After that the parrot lived happy rest of his life.
